Smiles, Support and Stories: The heart of the RCHS English Department

The English Department at Reed-Custer High School is being featured for the month of November. There are eight teachers dedicated to English instruction for approximately 375 students.
Mrs. Melissa Rankin teaches JJC Rhetoric and English 12, as well as being a Teacher Leader. Students had the following to say about Mrs. Rankin: Gives great feedback and wants to see her students grow, very nice and understanding, and always greets people with a smile on her face.
Ms. Sara Will teaches AP Language and English 11, as well as coaching JV Volleyball. Students had the following to say about Ms. Will: Always encouraging us to do better, helpful on assignments and essays, and talks to you as a brilliant human being that very much has potential.
Gareth Kent teaches English 10, Honors English 10, and Speech, as well as coaching the JV Scholastic Bowl Team. Students had the following to say about Mr. Kent: Great guy that I can talk to, very helpful and gives honest feedback, and wants his students to do better and achieve the most they can.
Ms. Elizabeth Goberville teaches English 9 and Honors English 9, as well as being a Class Sponsor for the Class of 2029. Students had the following to say about Ms. Goberville: Stays professional but matches the energy of her students, makes sure everyone understands the topic, and I look forward to her class every day.
Ms. Sarah Giffin teaches College and Career Exploration, and also pushes in to English 9, 10, and 11. Students had the following to say about
Ms. Giffin: Cares about students and their futures, always there to listen, and is another "mother figure" to me.
Mrs. Lindsay Bain teaches Spanish 1, 2, and 3, and Honors Spanish 4, as well as being the World Culture Club Sponsor and Class Sponsor for the Class of 2026. Students had the following to say about Mrs. Bain: Calm, sweet, and understanding, makes sure everyone in the class gets the concept she is trying to teach, and muy divertido y interesante.
Mrs. Meyr is our Librarian, as well as being the Book Club Sponsor and Class Sponsor for the Class of 2028. Students had the following to say about Mrs. Meyr: Creative and fun to be around, good at giving advice, and always wanting to make students more excited about reading books.
Mr. Gleixner teaches Learning Resource Intervention, along with being the Head Boys' Soccer Coach and the RCHS Assistant Athletic Director.
Students had the following to say about Mr. Gleixner: Always greets us with a smile every morning, works hard for all the athletic programs, and helps us get our work done.
