Reed-Custer art students honored

ART STUDENTS from Reed-Custer High School recently had their works submitted to the University of St. Francis High School Art Exhibition. Recognized during the March meeting of the board of education by RCHS art instructors John Vorris (left) and Jessica Baron (right) are (from left) Joey Leadingham (senior) with “Glass Still Life,” a photography print that won an Award of Excellence; Haley Budick (senior) with “Good Morning,” a colored pencil drawing with a book page background that won an Award of Excellence; and Seth Johnson (senior) submitted “David,” a graphite and charcoal drawing that won an honorable mention award. Budick also created “From the Ground Up,” a colored pencil drawing that won first runner-up in Riverside Healthcare’s Art 4 Heart in February 2023, and “Cupcake,” a colored pencil drawing that was selected for an honorable mention award at the Chicagoland 4x5 show hosted at Oswego High School this past fall. Not pictured: Alexandra Bohac (senior) who painted “Bloom,” is an acrylic painting that won an Award of Excellence.
