There’s nothing malevolent about the North Island Park for 363 days of the year — until the one weekend each year that the Wilmington Lions Club turns it into a horrifyingly haunted forest brimming with the undead and decaying.
The Lions Club’s two-night spookhike, a Walk in the Woods, will take place on Friday, Oct. 20, and Saturday, Oct. 21, beginning at 7 p.m. The terrors continue until the bewitching hour — with the last ticket being sold about 10 p.m. The spooktacular is held in the North Island Park in Wilmington.
