Hotel project inches closer to reality

City leaders in Braidwood over the past several administrations have been seeking ways to attract builders to town and to boost the city’s interstate junctions with the addition of permanent businesses.

But this year, the city appears closer than ever to having that development become a reality, with a new proposal for a hotel on the table.

On Jan. 23, local builder Tony Altiery and his business partner, attorney Frank Meents, made a brief presentation to the members of the City Council.

Biz owner aims to make Braidwood more enticing

City leaders and some local business owners said they’d like to see some cleanup in Braidwood in 2018, in an effort to market the town better to passers by.

On Dec. 12, Braidwood business owner Bob Jones made an impassioned plea to the members of the city council to work harder on efforts to clean up Braidwood, and make it more inviting for visitors and businesses.
