An increase in the number of liquor licenses allowed in the city of Wilmington has paved the way for a new business to open up on Water Street.
On June 15, members of the City Council approved an amendment to the city code, changing the number of liquor licenses available in the city from seven to eight.
That eighth license is intended to be granted to Adriana Martinez and Monica Alaman of Joliet, who plan to open the Blue Horse wine and martini bar at 115 N. Water St., next to the Trinity Knot.
