Braidwood has seen a significant reduction in crime and in increase in ways the city is fighting the opioid epidemic, according to year-end numbers put out by Police Chief Nick Ficarello this month.
On Jan. 23, Public Health and Safety Commissioner Eric Tessler released some year-end stats for 2017, provided by the chief following an analysis of crimes reported in the city over the previous 12 months.
Per the report, the city has seen a large reduction in burglaries and thefts, the most common crimes that affect Braidwood residents.
