Time to register for school

Students will be headed back to school in just six weeks. In preparation for the upcoming school year, the Unit 1 School District has set registration dates.
On-line registration will be available for new and returning students beginning Monday, July 10. For links to on-line registration visit www.coalcity.k12.il.us.
Parents who need assistance with on-line registration can attend walk-in registration on Thursday, July 20 from 7-10 a.m. and 4- 6:30 p.m., and Tuesday, July 25 from 3-6:30 p.m.  Walk-in registration will be held in the cafeteria at Coal City High School, 655 W. Division St.
Registration fees are $25 for pre-kindergarten, $40 for kindergarten to third grade, $45 for intermediate school, $55 for middle school and $60 for high school. A $30 milk fee also applies to students in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten.
Students new to the district can submit a pre-registration form on-line. Parents will then receive an e-mail with directions on how to create an account and submit the required registration forms.
New families will attend walk-in registration on the previously listed dates to provide proof of residency and to submit the following information: state of Illinois transfer form, original birth certificate, physical with proof of immunizations and a year-end report card from the students’ previous school.
A child will not be allowed to start school until the district has received the proper physical and immunization forms.     Children in kindergarten, second and sixth grades require a dental exam by the state of Illinois and children entering kindergarten require a vision exam.
