The search continued on Tuesday for a Shadow Lakes man who went missing inside the private subdivision over the weekend.

Braidwood police were notified around noon on Sunday, Nov. 7, that Patrick Husch, 60, had left his residence in Shadow Lakes on a golf cart and never returned. That golf cart was later found inside the gated community.

“It was on the nature trails that runs through Shadow Lakes,” Braidwood Police Chief Todd Lyons said.

Husch was reported missing by one of his roommates.

Lyons reported that the search is currently focused only on Shadow Lakes, as teams work on a grid search of the terrain as well as the lakes themselves.

On Tuesday, Braidwood police issued a missing person’s flyer, but Lyons said the teams were not seeking public assistance with the search itself.

“Right now we’re focusing on Shadow Lakes,” he said. “There’s a lot of rough terrain out here. There’s a lot of heavy foliage.”

Teams searched Shadow Lakes during daylight hours on Sunday and Monday, and returned early Tuesday to resume that effort. Lyons said additional help was brought in Tuesday morning, including a sonar-equipped boat search of the waterways by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and additional K9 assistance from the Illinois-Wisconsin Search and Rescue Dogs unit.

The Braidwood Police Department is heading up the search, with assistance from the Braidwood Fire Protection District, Braidwood ESDA, and the K9 and drone teams from Wilmington ESDA.

Also assisting with the search are ground search and rescue teams from LaSalle County, Naperville, and Carol Stream, and EMA from Plainfield, Kane County, and McHenry County.

Lyons said the investigation has already included interviews with Husch’s family, friends and roommates. The chief said department would notify the public via social media if any volunteers are needed to assist in a search.

Husch is a while male, approximately 5’8” and 153 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket with reflective stripes on the right and left sides and blue jeans.
