St. Juvin Post members presented the Post's Patriotic Citizen Award to Kay and Franklin Brtva. The award is “Given in grateful appreciation for unselfish inspirational patriotic service to the community through the daily display of our National flag.”
Kay and Franklin split their time between their residence at Country Meadows in Diamond where they fly the US flag on their privately provided pole and their winter home in Florida.
In addition to the flag at their home they also provide an avenue of flags on Meadows Drive at the entrance to Country Meadows on each flag holiday. Franklin is a US Army veteran who served in Japan.
St. Juvin Post appreciates all citizens who fly the nation's flag which honors our freedoms by those that have served their country.
