Poppy Day benefits veterans

Members of the Braidwood American Legion Koca Post 39 collected funds during their annual Poppy Day fundraiser on May 17 and May 18.

The Legion joined with other Legion members across the country to sell the poppies.

The red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since WWI to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars. Funds raised will benefit local veterans’ programs.

National Poppy Day is Friday, May 24.
