Next stop for Mills will be the Golden State

Jaylee Mills has definitely made a name for herself within the volleyball community over the past four years at WHS. She excelled on the court no matter what position.

Mills, daughter of Jenny Mills, recently signed to continue her athletic and academic career at Pacific Union College in Angwin, California.

Jaylee knew Pacific Union was her match. “I love the campus and I feel as though I would really fit in there,” she said.

Her future coach made her feel at home, even though it’s 2,100 miles away. She is choosing to play for them because she loves the Napa County campus and bonded quickly with the other girls.

Volleyball means everything to Jaylee. She has been playing for nine years. She has always known she wanted to continue her volleyball career and started her recruitment process during her Junior year.

Mills ended her career at WHS with an amazing year.During her senior season, Jaylee was nominated to the All-Tournament Team at the Joliet Central Invitational over Labor Day Weekend where she had 25 kills, 11 assisted blocks, 10 solo blocks, 11 digs, and 8 aces.

She is ranked #1 in the conference and #6 in Class 2A for blocking. Jaylee had 96 total of which 32 were solo blocks and 64 assisted. Jaylee is also ranked #2 in conference, #28 in 2A, for aces. She had 54 aces total, .7 aces per set and a 16.2 ace serving percentage.

Mills ended #7 in conference for kills with 154, 1.9 kills per set, and a 47 kill percentage. Her hitting percentage was a .256 which made her #50 in Class 2A.

In the short time she was in the back row for serving, she ended #32 in the conference with 73 digs, .9 digs per set. Jaylee was also Player of the Game seven times and voted to All-Conference and All-Academic All-Conference.

Volleyball has created many lifelong friendships for Jaylee. As she continues her volleyball career she will enjoy being a part of a team and creating bonds along the West Coast.
