Lady Wildcats win over Gardner-South Wilmington

    The Wilmington volleyball team was unable to come away with a win on Monday, suffering a loss to Ottawa Marquette in two games.
    The Lady Wildcats varsity managed 16 points in both of their games as they lost to Ottawa, 25-16, 25-16.
    Allie Homerding finished with a team-high of nine digs on the defense, while Abby Chamberlin secured six digs, eight assists and six kills.
    The junior varsity team also lost to Ottawa, but did win one of the games, 25-11.
    The opposition picked up wins in the second and third games, 28-26, 25-17.

GSW 17, 25, 22

    It was a close battle for Wilmington’s first home game of the season on Thursday, but the Lady Wildcats were able to pull it off.
    Both teams traded the first two games by the same final score, 25-17, but Wilmington proved their toughness, as they drove through the third game with a three-point win, 25-22.
    Chamberlin led the offense with six aces and four kills, while Maysie Feil earned seven kills on the night against the tough opponent.
Yorkville 24, 25, 25,
Wilmington 26, 14, 16

    The Lady Wildcats fell to Yorkville, as they kicked the season off with a loss in three games.
    Wilmington earned a win in the first game with a narrow margin, 26-24, but fell in the following two games, 25-14, 25-16.
    Maysie Feil led the team with 16 digs, while Carley Wilkerson earned eight digs against a very tough opponent.
    The junior varsity team suffered a loss in two games, falling to Yorkville, 25-21, 25-16.
    At the freshman level, both the “A” and “B” teams picked up wins.
    The “A” team won in two games 25-14, 25-13, and the “B” team also won in two, 25-3, 25-10.
