Internationally known a cappela group to perform in Coal City

The second installment in the Megan Bugg Concert Series is just one month away.
    A cappela group Street Corner Symphony will be in Coal City Saturday, April 22 for a 7 p.m. performance at in the Coal City Unit 1 Auditorium at Coal City High School.
    Street Corner Symphony is a six-man group from Nashville. They came to international notoriety in 2010 when they became runners-up on NBC’s “The Sing Off.”
    Since then, the men of SCS have performed around the world, giving benefits, clinics and concerts, as well as recording two full albums and numerous singles.
    The men of Street Corner Symphony  are Adam Chance, Mark McLemore, and Kurt Zimmerman, along with brothers Jeremy, Jonathan, and Richie Lister.  
    The group’s repertoire covers a wide range of music from gospel and barbershop to rock and pop, appealing to the young and old alike.
    Street Corner Symphony is the first of two concerts scheduled this year as part of the series established by Coal City High School student Megan Bugg and her family.
    “It is an honor to provide this event to a community that has given her so much love and support during her 2 1/2-year battle with cancer. Megan loves music and the theater, so the establishment of this concert series is a fitting way for her to give something back to all of her supporters,” said Dr. Kent Bugg, Megan’s dad and superintendent of the Unit 1 School District.
    Reserved seat tickets for the April 22 concert are $20 per person, $15 for students. Ticket information can be found on the Unit 1 School District website at www.coalcity.k12.il.us  and the Coal City Unit #1 Auditorium page on Facebook.
    Proceeds from ticket sales will support the Megan Bugg Concert Series hosted by the Unit 1 School District.
