Game on!

Saturday’s football game between Coal City and Chicago Phoenix is 100 percent certain, now that classes will be back in session Friday for all Chicago schools with the settlement of a teachers’ strike.
Phoenix players were allowed to practice on Wednesday meaning they fulfilled the statewide rule that requires that all football teams hold three days of practice before a playoff game.
Now with teachers headed back to the classroom on Friday after the union called a strike 11 days ago, all criteria will be met with IHSA rules.
Chicago Phoenix is one of 19 teams in the playoffs that were at risk of forfeiting.
The #1 ranked Coalers are hosting the playoff contest at 2 p.m.
