FROM THE ROUGH - Coal City’s Dylan Brown is missed the fairway with his drive on Hole 5 at High Point Golf Course.

The Coal City golf team improved to 4-0 on Thursday with a 170-212 win over Wilmington on Thursday at High Point Golf Course in Essex.

Medalists for the event were Coalers Ryne Phelan and Dylan Brown who both carded a 41. They were followed by Ryland Magyeri and Jack Varnak who shot 44 on a rain-dampened course.

Wilmington Aaron Burkey led the hosts with a 45, followed by Shawn James with a 49.

Coal City 173, Peotone 178

On Wednesday at Cardinal Creek the Coalers won in a close shootout with the Blue Devils.

Coal City's Phelan was match medalist with a 39.
