The Wilmington girls soccer team had their season come to an end as they were unable to avoid being shutout by Bishop McNamara during the opening round of the Class 1A Reed-Custer Regional on Tuesday in an 11-0 loss.
The ‘Cats had stellar work from their sophomore goalkeeper, Rachel Wandless, who kept both teams square during the first five minutes of the ballgame but the Irish didn’t give up, scoring three straight goals during the next three minutes of the game to take a 2-0 lead and they didn’t look back from there, cruising to a first round win over the ‘Cats.
