Freak to serve as Summerfest Grand Marshal

The Braidwood Lions Club is pleased to announce that Freak, owner of Top Fuel Saloon in Braidwood, has been chosen to serve as Grand Marshal of the 44th Annual Braidwood Lions Club Summerfest Hometown Proud Parade.
Freak's passion for helping those in need, his unwavering dedication to military service men and women, and veterans, along with his outstanding support of local organizations and the community, are what made the club's decision this year a very easy one.

Speaking of heroes, where have they all gone? We just don’t run across the likes of Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, or Anne Frank these days. Or do we?
Actually, we do, and one of those heroes hides in plain sight in Braidwood. His legal name is Walter Kozielski. He celebrated his 57th birthday on April 16. By the time you read his story, you’ll agree he’s a good guy, maybe even a hero (though he’ll probably deny it).

Walter Kozielski had an idea when he took over the old Knights of Columbus Hall on Hickory Street in Braidwood: To bring together food, fun, and entertainment, with a little charity on the side.

Kozielski is better known as Freak, the name he uses publicly as a DJ and local personality.

Freak wears many hats; businessman, fundraiser, bartender, just to name a few. When he opened his bar, Top Fuel Saloon, two years ago, he just wanted to create a space where the community could come together.
