JoAnn McCormick

JOLIET—JoAnn Carol McCormick passed away peacefully at her home in Joliet at the age of 88, surrounded by love.
JoAnn was born on June 15, 1936, the daughter of the late Desmond Reilly and late Elizabeth Biermacher. She grew up in Joliet and was a graduate of Joliet Central High School. JoAnn was retired and spent her working life as a bookkeeper, cafeteria worker, and bus driver. She enjoyed spending time in TOPS Club and going to lunch with other retired school and bus workers. She enjoyed reading, watching game shows, and solving word search puzzles. JoAnn found great joy volunteering as an usher at the Rialto Square Theatre for over 25 years. She will be missed by her cats, Bella and Simba.
JoAnn is survived by her sons, Michael (Alissa) McCormick, of Wilmington and David (Elizabeth) McCormick, of Joliet; granddaughters, Elizabeth (Nick) Wallace, of East Dubuque, IL and Hadley McCormick, of Libertyville; great-grandson, Dominick Wallace and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. McCormick; her parents, Joseph P. (Elizabeth) Biermacher and brother, Donald (Mary) Reilly.
As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will take place at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
