Dennis Garrett

BRACEVILLE— Dennis E. Garrett, 58 of Braceville, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at his residence. He was born March 2, 1968, to Dennis and Jean (née Poppleton) Garrett in Joliet, IL.
On April 1, 2006, Dennis married Lois Pressler, and together they shared 20 years of life, creating countless memories along the way.
Dennis worked for several years as a forklift operator for US Cold Storage in Wilmington. He loved spending time with family and especially enjoyed time spent at the Braidwood Recreation Club. Dennis loved golfing, fishing, watching NASCAR, and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide with a proud “Roll Tide.” He was also a loyal Chicago Cubs fan who enjoyed watching baseball, relaxing in his garage, watching westerns, tending to his garden, enjoying a cold Busch Light, and never passing up his favorite sweet treats, especially Ding Dongs. Above all, he cherished the companionship of his beloved grand-dog, Buccy.
Surviving are his loving wife, Lois Garrett; his beloved children: Taylor (Jordan) Garrett of Morris; Cody Garrett of Braceville; Kilee (Zachary) Crichton of Elmhurst, IL; and Megan (Henry) Coates of Tumwater, WA; and his cherished grandchildren: Milo David Coates and Logan Michelle Coates. Also surviving are his sisters: Teresa (Allen) Sanches of Morris; and Rebecca Beasley of Wilmington; his brother, David (Sherri) Garrett of South Wilmington; as well as several nieces and nephews: Jake Garrett and great-nephew Bentley, Josh Garrett and great-niece Dalilah, Tim (Nettie) Garrett, Mandie Sanches, Anthony Garrett, Kayla Garrett, and Stephanie Beasley.
Dennis was preceded in death by his cherished parents.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at R. W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, with funeral services beginning at 7:00 p.m. In honoring Dennis's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
