Clara Swisher

WILMINGTON—Clara Louise Swisher, 92, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 at home with her loving family by her side.
Born Nov. 5, 1927 in Brookport, IL, Clara was a daughter of Donald and Mary Sophia Austin. She married Robert (Tarz) Swisher Sr. on April 12, 1947, and he preceded her in death. Clara will be remembered for her love of grandchildren visits, sewing and traveling.
Survivors include one daughter, Regina Kathleen (Tom) Noel and one daughter-in-law, Doris Swisher, both of Wilmington; one son, Robert Jr. (Pat) Swisher, of Braceville; granddaughters: Sophia Noel (who helped so very much in her care) and Amber Noel, both of Wilmington; Maria Noel, of Michigan and Roycann (Greg) Williams, of Coal City; grandsons: Robert III (Dyanna) Swisher, of Braceville; Roy Swisher, of Carmi, IL; Michael (Jen) Swisher, Shawn Swisher and Charles Swisher, all of Wilmington and Jeff (Dana) Blatti, of Braceville; great-granddaughters: Morgan Crosby, of Naperville; Kathryn (Robert) McCluckie, of Coal City; Holly Swisher, of Braceville; Courtney (Justin) Wilber and Kaly Swisher, of Newnan, GA; great-grandsons: Patrick Wren, of Chicago; Robert IV (Tonya) Swisher, of Cornell, IL; Tyler Swisher, of Wilmington; Gage Swisher, of Newnan, Georgia; Robert (Tammy) Blatti, of Wilmington and Jeffery Blatti, of Braidwood.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Ronald and Michael; one great-granddaughter, Jerri Lynn Blatti and one great-grandson, Richard Smith.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 12 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. A private family service will follow with Reverend Jan Chandler officiating.
Measures of safe social distancing practices will be in order, and funeral home staff will assist the family not to exceed the safe number set forth for the visitation.
Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington at a later date.
