DIAMOND—Devon C. Elliott, 52, of Diamond, passed away suddenly on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026 in Wisconsin due to injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1973 in Joliet, to Charles H. “Chuck” Elliott and Lorene C. (nee Hahn) Elliott. He was raised locally and graduated from Coal City High School class of 1992. After graduation, Devon became an electrician with the IBEW Local #176 and joined Elliott Electric. He married his love, Tracy Bentson, on Sept. 12, 2015 on her family’s property in Morris.

WILMINGTON—Shirley Ileen Marrs (nee Coleman), 90, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born on July 15, 1935, in Denver, CO, to William and Nadine (Bryant) Coleman.
On Oct. 1, 1960, she married the love of her life, William Earl Marrs, in Denver, CO. Together they shared 37 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family, and devotion, until his passing in 1998.

DWIGHT— Barbara Ann “Babs” Ostrom (nee Harjes-Wind) 89 of Dwight, IL passed away on Jan. 15th, 2026.
Formerly of Jacksonville, FL, and Coal City, IL. Born May 18, 1936, in Madison, WI. she was primarily raised in North Lake, IL. She attended and graduated from Proviso East High School. This is where she met the love of her life, Warren whom she married on July 15, 1955, in New Buffalo, MI. She remained married nearly 66 years until Warren's passing in 2021.

WILMINGTON— William P. Haldorson “Bill”, 76 of Wilmington, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2026 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL.
Born Dec. 25, 1949 in Joliet, IL, William Paul was a son of Raymond and Betty (Petersen) Haldorson. He was raised in Elwood, IL and graduated from Joliet East High School with the Class of 1968. Bill attended Joliet Junior College before being selected for military service. He served honorably in the United States Army until his honorable discharge.
