DIAMOND—Brenda Lee Jackson (née Seal), of Diamond, passed away at the age of 82 on July 22, 2025, at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born Oct. 17, 1942 in Caruthersville, MO, to Onie Goff Seal and James Ralph Seal. She and her family moved to Coal City in 1952. She graduated from Coal City High School in 1960 and married Louis (Bud) W. Jackson, of Braidwood, one year later in 1961.

CHANNAHON—Janet M. Shields (nee Santerelli), 83, of Channahon and formerly of Wilmington, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025 at Arcadia Care of Morris.
A daughter of Anthony and Stella (Pomykala) Santerelli, she was born on June 12, 1942 in Joliet and was raised and educated in New Lenox. On Nov. 25, 1967, Janet married Bernard Shields in St. Jude Catholic Church in New Lenox and together they made a home in Florence Township, Wilmington and raised their family.

WILMINGTON—Alberta Mae Novy, 87, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2025 in Wilmington, surrounded by her family.
Born May 8, 1938, Alberta Mae was a daughter of Elmer and Lorene (Turner) Moore. She was raised and educated in Christopher, IL, and then moved to Wilmington where she spent most of her adult life. Alberta worked for Johnson & Johnson Personal Products for 30 years until she retired in 1999.

SHOREWOOD—Bonnie Louella Parks, 74, of Shorewood, passed away on July 18, 2025.
Bonnie cherished time spent with her grandchildren and will be remembered for the love she shared with her family.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Roscoe James Parks; her sons, David (Jane) Parks and Michael Parks; her grandchildren: Devin, Trevor and Gavin Parks and Ivy Lakey. She also leaves behind her sisters: Debbie Williams, Barb Kaus, Marie Yoder, Brenda Sue Kibler, and Faye Carey, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Walter W. Mahaffay

DIAMOND—Walter W. “Wally” Mahaffay, 80, of Diamond, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care in Joliet.
He was born on May 10, 1945 in Chicago to Bud and Barb Mahaffay. Wally married Geraldine Kubiak. They were married for 25 years until her passing in 2002. Wally worked for the Illinois Tollway as a painter for 32 years. He enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises and to Las Vegas. He was a collector of Lionel Trains.

GARDNER—Jack L.” Thyger” Thygesen, 90, formerly of Gardner, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1934 in Morris to Francis H. and Esther J. (nee Nelson) Thygesen. He gr ew up in the Gardner area and graduated from Gardner South Wilmington High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. Jack was a carpenter by trade, building homes with his father in Gardner before joining the Union Trades. He worked for many years with the Narvick Brothers in Morris.

Norma Perucca

MORRIS— Norma Perucca, 94 of Morris, formerly of Naperville, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Serenity Estates in Morris.
Born April 12, 1931, Norma was the daughter of Norman and Marie Lewis. She was raised and educated in Naperville and graduated from Naperville High School with the Class of 1949. She married John J. Perucca and together they made their home and raised their daughter in Naperville before moving to Morris in the 1970's. Norma worked as an office manager for Sears at the Fox Valley Mall for over 20 years until her well earned retirement.

BRAIDWOOD—Robert Arthur Logan, 88, of Braidwood, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet.
Born on July 2, 1937, in Cobden, IL, he was the son of Wilmer and Beulah (née Nance) Logan. On Sept. 17, 1960, he married Judith Allen in Nason, IL, beginning a lifelong journey of love and devotion that spanned almost 65 years. Together, they built a beautiful life and a legacy of faith and family.
