BRAIDWOOD—Norman Arthur Heiman, 85, of Braidwood, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. Born Oct. 21, 1940, in Joliet, Norman was the son of Alfred and Alice (née Van Lienen) Heiman.
Norm grew up in Plainfield, IL and was a member of the graduating class from Plainfield High School, Class of 1959. After schooling, Norm joined the United States Navy, continued his career with the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant until its closure, and then was employed at Johns Manville until his retirement.

WILMINGTON—Patrick Joseph McNulty, 80, of Wilmington, passed away on Aug. 11, 2026, at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Patrick was born in Chicago, on Oct. 31, 1945, to his parents, Joseph and Veronica McNulty. He was a dedicated union pipefitter who spent many years working diligently and making lifelong friends along the way. Patrick also spent time in Vietnam, serving in the Army.

COAL CITY— Betty Davidson Roberts, age 90, of Coal City, most recently a resident of The Gardens at Park Pointe in Morris, passed away on Sept. 1, 2026 at Morris Hospital.
Betty was born March 6, 1936, in Harriman, TN, to Charles and Alice (Ladd) Davidson. Though she made Illinois her home, she never lost the Southern roots that were an important part of who she was.

COAL CITY—Lucille DeGulie, 102, of Coal City. The Lord claimed His servant, Lucille Plese DeGulie on Wednesday morning, Sept. 2, 2026.
Lucille was born the second child of John and Margaret (Berta) Plese on April 15, 1924. She always felt blest to have been born on the farm located on the beautiful Kankakee River and all the pleasures, events, and friendships that blest her early years there.

COAL CITY—Nick Cook, 21, of Coal City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026.
Born April 21, 2005, in Joliet, Nicholas Wesley was the son of Andrew and Julie (Drager) Cook. He was raised in Coal City, attended Immaculate Conception School in Morris, and graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 2023. At the time of his passing, Nick was employed as an Operator with ExxonMobil.

Catherine T. Ferrari

COAL CITY—Catherine T. Ferrari, 78, of Coal City, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026.
She was born on June 30, 1948 in Joliet to Leonard and Phyllis (nee Kodat) Fioritto. She grew up in Coal City, graduating from Coal City High School class of 1966 and continued to get together for lunch with her classmates. Cathie married her partner in life, Robert L. Ferrari, in 1972. Together they raised two sons. Cathie owned Ferrari Accounting, retiring after 40 years. She was a devoted mom and grandmother.

DIAMOND—George M. Reader, 90, of Diamond, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026 at the Gardens at Park Pointe in Morris.
He was born on March 11, 1936 in Mazon, to George L. and Mildred (nee Brooks) Reader. He grew up in the Mazon area and attended Gardner schools. George married Joan Mallaney on March 13, 1965. He worked for the Papermill for several years then worked as a process operator at Lyondell for 19 years until his retirement.

Mary T. Grygiel

BRAIDWOOD—Mary T. “Pee Wee” Grygiel, of Braidwood, passed away Aug. 17, 2026. Born June 26, 1929, she was the daughter of Mabel and History Danzero. She went to Reed-Custer High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She lived in Braidwood her entire life.
On June 26, 1948 she married Chester Grygiel. They together had two sons Michael (Karen) and Gregory (Sue) and one daughter, Mary Ellen (Gary) Sanches.
