A food pantry that was reportedly being operated out of a home in the 400 block of South Division Street has been shut down, according to Braidwood Police Chief Todd Lyons.
“We got a verbal complaint that it was bringing rats into the neighborhood and it was causing traffic issues, along with it being a public safety issue,” Lyons said.
The issue was brought up by a woman who identified herself as a neighbor on South Division Street during public comment at the June 9 Braidwood City Council meeting.
