The city of Wilmington has opened the door for bars and restaurants to add alcohol sales to their carryout and delivery orders.
On June 16, members of the City Council approved an ordinance providing sale of alcohol for off-premises consumption.
“This just allows for those establishments with a Class A or a Class D license... to allow for takeout or delivery of alcoholic beverages,” city administrator Joie Ziller explained during the Ordinance and Licensing Committee meeting, which took place the week prior to the approval.
