A multi-alarm fire damaged a Gardner automotive business Sunday, March 15, drawing several fire departments to the scene and sending thick smoke over the community.
The blaze was reported at a commercial building housing J & R Service Center and MRV Motorsports, located along Liberty Street. The building houses an automotive repair and towing operation that has served the area for decades.

Quiet has always been expected in libraries. But inside the Wilmington Public Library, silence has never been easy to achieve.

BNSF Railway has awarded an $18.9 million construction contract to D Construction, Inc. of Coal City to replace the existing at-grade railroad crossing on Lorenzo Road with a new overpass bridge.
The project will carry vehicles above the busy BNSF rail line, eliminating the need for traffic to stop for passing trains, thus eliminating the frustration of long delays.
