MANHATTAN-John Michael Carroll, 22, of Manhattan, died on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008.
John served in the US Navy including overseas service in Spain. He graduated from Lincoln Way Central High School in 2004. He was employed as a supervisor for Fullers in Mokena. He loved his Savior, his art, music and playing Frisbee Golf with his friends.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy (nee Lee) Carroll of Manhattan; father, John (Beth) Carroll of New Lenox; one sister, Rebecca Carroll of Manhattan; two brothers; Matthew and Mark Carroll of Manhattan, maternal grandmother, Mary G. Lee of Manhattan, paternal grandparents, Frank R. Jr. and Mary Ann Carroll of Lockport, aunts, Mary Ann Cochran of Manhattan and Patti (Chuck) Blatti of Elwood; uncles, Lawrence T. (Antoinette) Lee of Manhattan, Dr. Thomas D. (Deborah) Lee of Manhattan, Robert V. (Kimberly) Lee of Manhattan, Frank R. Carroll III of Minooka, Dave J. (Mary Jo) Carroll of Lockport, Daniel L. (Stacy) Carroll of Florida and Jeffrey (Amy) Carroll of Joliet, numerous cousins and second cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dr. Lawrence D. Lee.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, from the Forsythe Funeral Home, 507 S. State St. (Rt. 52) in Manhattan to St. Joseph Church, 235 W. North Street, Manhattan for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Research Fund would be appreciated.
