WILMINGTON CITY WORKER Mike Stroud enjoys the sunshine while flushing hydrants Wednesday morning on North Water Street. Stroud said the challenge with the city's flushing week is keeping his feet dry with 619 hydrants in the city limits that have to be tested by opening up the valves so water can flow for about one minute each. City workers began the task on Monday and were about half completed as of Wednesday. Hydrant flushing will continue through Friday so any water users who see discoloration should know that it is temporary.
