3/14/2017 5:10:00 PM VFW, library to honor Kilbride
The Coal City Public Library District is partnering with St. Juvin Post 1336 Veterans of Foreign Wars to honor the late Mary Ann Kilbride.
Together, the library and VFW have commissioned a plaque in her memory. The plaque recognizes her service to veterans as a member of The Honor Squad at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. This plaque will hang in the reference department of the library. Kilbride's family will also be presented with books donated to the library in her name by her many friends in the library's book clubs.
Additionally, the VFW will present awards to members of The Honor Squad who are volunteers that reside within the boundaries of the Coal City Public Library District.
The presentations will take place at the library, 85 N. Garfield St., on Tuesday, March 21, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Christopher Hill, a representative from Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, will also be in attendance to give a presentation about the cemetery and answer questions.
