Local baseball, softball teams battle at Summerfest

A 2,000-year-old exercise that's easy on the body
Comfort and exercise seldom go together, but when it comes to learning tai chi, the body blends them well. Beginning next week local residents can join in this gentle, 2,000-year-old Chinese exercise.

Sunshine Garden Center in Diamond will begin tai chi sessions on July 30, while the Wilmington Lion's Club will host sessions starting on July 31.

The Joliet Slammers and the Chicago Bandits of National Pro Fastpitch will play in a Battle of The Sexes Fastpitch Softball game at Silver Cross Field, Joliet, on Monday, July 20, at 7:05 p.m. The gates will open at 6:05 p.m.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Rule changes for the 2016 baseball and softball seasons were made at the rules committee meetings last month in Indianapolis. Those changes were subsequently approved by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS)
