Kickin' Coalers blessed with senior leadership
Coal City's varsity boys soccer team finished the 2014 season in the second round of the regional where they lost 4-0 to top-seeded Herscher. The Tigers went on to finish third in the state while the Coalers gained a ton of post-play experience that they hope to build on in 2015.

When Coal City resident Leah Campos traveled to Europe a couple weeks ago, it wasn't for vacation. Campos was part of the 18U Team USA softball team, and they were scheduled to play games against Italy and Greece.

For Pam McMurtrey, she will still be returning to teach seventh grade math and science, but also be the new head varsity volleyball coach for Coal City High School.

Wilmington and Reed-Custer will play this Saturday, against Manteno and Herscher respectively, while Coal City will face Momence on Sunday.
