State expectations
Coal City, Wilmington advance 13
James Bentz
Sports correspondent

There were few surprises Saturday in Plano during the sectional tournament as eight Wildcats and five Coalers advanced to state.

Seniors Andy Rodawold, Sean Liaromatis and Derrick Romano led Wilmington as sectional champions, while Colin Weis, Austin Headrick and Dexter Fierro finished in second place. Bronze medalist for Wilmington were Andrew Liaromatis and Nick Vancura.

Coal City sectional champions included Cody Minnick, Corey Jurzak and Casey Brown. Second place finishers were Jake Czaja and Ryan Naples.

Wilmington's Brandon Neises and Coaler Dylan Pierard are state alternates.
