Young Coaler fans need to be accompanied by an adult at football games

The City Coaler football team opens the 2023 season with a home game against Morris Friday, and the start of a new season brings a change in the school’s attendance guidelines.

High school administration announced on Tuesday that due to safety and behavior concerns, the school district will now require all elementary and middle school students to be accompanied by an adult.

Students who arrive without an adult or not in possession of a high school identification card will be turned away at the gate.

Additionally, no bikes, scooters, skateboards or the like will be brought into the stadium area. And, there are to be no footballs in the stadium other than those being used by the high school players on the field.

Pickup games behind the bleachers will not be allowed, in fact everyone is asked to stay off of the practice fields.

School rules apply when attending sporting events, and everyone attending is encouraged to be there to support the Coalers.

Adult admission to regular season games is $4 per person, seniors citizens age 62 and older are admitted at no cost.

Students attending with school ID and elementary students accompanied by an adult enter at no cost, students without ID pay $2.
