Yard waste collection resumes April 4

    Yard waste collection will resume in the city of Wilmington during regular garbage pickup on Thursday, April 4. All yard waste must be placed at the curb by 6 a.m.
    Yard waste must be placed in kraft paper bags, which can be purchased from local retailers, or in a 96-gallon yard waste tote available for rent from Waste Management. Call the waste hauler directly at 800-796-9696 to obtain a tote.
    Branches and brush will also be collected, but must be cut into lengths of 4-feet or less and bundled and tied with string or twine. Wire is not permitted. Bundles may not exceed 50 pounds. Branches should be no larger than 4-inches in diameter.
    Unbundled branches will not be collected. Whole trees, stumps and limbs more than 4 inches in diameter, sod and dirt are not included in the weekly yard waste collection.
    The last yard waste collection will be Nov. 29.
