Wilmington Community Band concert

    The Wilmington Area Community Band will perform the final concert of the 2018 season on Sunday, Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. at Memorial Park, Vine and Williams streets.
    Bring a lawn chair and mosquito spray, and relax in the shade as the band performs in a beautiful outdoor setting.
    This concert will be a mix of favorites by vote from the audience and a few new pieces including The Star Spangled Banner, Circus Days, First Suite in E-flat for Military Band, The Best of Leroy Anderson, Instant Concert, More Cowbell and The Black Horse Troop.
    Following a brief intermission, the band will play The Liberty Bell, What's Up At The Symphony, Seventy Six Trombones and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.
    In case of rain or excess heat, the concert will be at Wilmington High School, 209 Wildcat Ct.
    The Wilmington Area Community Band is a volunteer group of local musicians ages 13 and older. Musicians looking for a fun summer ensemble are welcome. Contact Wes Smith at 815-476-5517 for more information.
