William E. Neese Sr.

WILMINGTON—William E. Neese Sr., 82, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He graduated from Wilmington High School and joined the United States Army. He was an avid Boy Scout Leader for over 20 years. William enjoyed woodworking, black powder shooting, boating and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Ethel (nee Howard) Neese; one son, Richard (Kelly) Neese, of Wilmington; eight grandsons: Clayton Barnes, Richard (Kristian) Neese II, Erick Barnes, Kristopher (Carley) Neese, Curtis (Katie) Barnes, Ryan Neese, Corbin Neese and Conrad Neese; one granddaughter, Madilyn Neese; three great-grandsons: Skylar Neese, Richard Neese III and John Neese; four great-granddaughters: Kaylee (Lauren) Caldwell, Hannah Barnes, Emma Barnes and Gracy Barnes; one sister, Judy Ashley; two brothers, Robert Neese and Charles (Silvia) Neese.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Herman and Rosalie Neese; two sons, William Neese Jr. and Steven Neese; one daughter, Marsha Barnes; three sisters: Betty Howard, Lois Shear and Shirley Davis and one brother, Donald Neese.
Funeral procession will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Wilmington for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, July 16, 2021 from 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
