Virginia MacKinven

WILMINGTON—Virginia MacKinven, "Virg," 86, of Wilmington, and formerly of Brooksville, FL, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born May 21, 1932 in Chicago, IL, Virginia was a daughter of Joseph and Trina (Quiroz) Linares. She was raised and educated on the southside of Chicago.
A woman of class and grace, Virginia enjoyed shopping and spending time at the beach and in the sun. She had a green thumb, loved her plants and took pleasure in traveling. She always looked forward to hosting family and friends in Florida, and cherished every opportunity she had to spend time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include six children: Diana Rodriquez (John Guiffre), of Oak Lawn; Michael Sietsema, of Wilmington; Robert (Darlene) Allison, of Philadelphia, PA; Babs (Layne) Law, of Myrtle Beach, SC; Sandra Rossi (fiancé Robert Robinson), of Wilmington and Victor (Danette) Sietsema, of Brooksville, FL; daughter-in-law, Beverly Sietsema, of Justice; 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Virginia was the third oldest of 17 siblings and is survived by 14 brothers and sisters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Scotty MacKinven (2014); children, Gloria and Howard; one great-granddaughter, her son-in-law, Michael Rossi; the father of her children, William Sietsema; one brother in infancy and one sister.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington from 2 p.m. until the time of funeral and celebration of life service at 7 p.m.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Virginia’s memory to the family for their distribution.
