Folks taking a ride down the Mother Road over the weekend were treated to a car show and some live entertainment as they stopped for a bit in Braidwood.

The weather cooperated over the weekend, providing a sunny and pleasant spring day for exploring town after town and taking a relaxing journey down Historic Route 66.

Braidwood was one of 13 stops on the annual Red Carpet Corridor Festival. The festival invites travelers to visit with towns along a 90-mile stretch of Route 66 between Joliet and Towanda, stopping in to take photos and enjoy a little of what each town has to offer.

The festival happens each year on the first Saturday in May. This was the 13th year for the festival.
