Timothy M. Hartley

GODLEY—Timothy  M. Hartley, 54, of Godley, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1965 in Joliet to James and Margaret Hartley. He grew up in the middle of six children and attended Lockport High School. Timothy, worked as a CDL driver and other various jobs. He became a father in October of 1988.
Tim  enjoyed playing pool, as he was a member of APA pool leagues for many years. He was a simple man, who enjoyed the simplicity of life. He was the kind to give the shirt off his back to any one in need. Tim was a hard working man, jack of all trades if you will and he was never afraid to try. He was a funny, laid back, family man who only wanted happiness for everyone he'd encounter.
Tim enjoyed spending time outdoors and riding motorcycles, but overall his favorite time was being with his son and grandkids. He strived on being around his grandkids as he was their biggest fan. He was called a lot of names in life but being called "Papa" was his favorite.
Timothy is survived by one child, Cody Hartley (Lindsey Murphy); his grandchildren, Bradyn and Nevaeh Hartley; brothers, James Hartley (Claire Hartley) and Robert Hartley; sister, Cheryal D. Smerz (nee Hartley). Two brother in laws Thomas Maffeo and LeRoy Nobels; his nieces and nephews: Jimmy, Jill, Aj, Alicia, LeRoy, Chrissy, Tommy, Megan and Jay; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and many great friends.
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Hartley; brother, Thomas Hartley, his two sisters, Dianna Maffeo and Deborah Nobels and nephew, Tj Maffeo.
A memorial of life will be held at a later date. Timothy's cremations will reside with his son and grandchildren.
