Suzy Miller-Norton

SHOREWOOD—Suzy Miller-Norton, 55, of Shorewood and formerly of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born Nov. 9, 1961 in Joliet, Susanne Marie was a daughter of Harry James, Sr. and Mary Alice (Keegan) Miller. She was raised in Braidwood and graduated from Reed-Custer High School with the Class of 1979.
Suzy was a member of the Illinois Restaurant Association, and formerly belonged to the Lions Club, and the Joliet Country Club. She took great pleasure in cooking, reading and attending baseball games, however her greatest time spent was with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Ken W. Norton; three children: John Persic III, Amanda Persic and Brittany Persic, all of Wilmington; four step-children: Scott (Stacey) Norton, of Rochester, IL; Michele Norton, of Madison, NJ; Jennifer Norton, of Joliet and Jeffrey (Brenda) Norton, of Sycamore; six grandchildren: Paige Persic, Taylor Persic, Colin Persic, Ethan Persic, Isabella Lardi and Carter Persic; five step-grandchildren: Jacob Norton, Catie Norton, Tyler Norton, Reece Norton and Cade Norton; five sisters: Linda Anderson, Sandy Mass, Marian Lindamood, Margaret Tyler and Harriett Baron, and one brother, Harry “J.R.” Miller, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Suzy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Mary Alice “Butch” Spivey.  
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017 from noon until time of funeral service, 3 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Reverend Brad Shumaker will officiate, and cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Inurnment will be private.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Suzy’s memory to the family for their distribution.
