Senior freeze, exemptions sign-up

    The Custer Township Assessors Office will host a senior event on Wednesday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Custer Township building. Staff from the Will County Assessors Office will be available to assist seniors.
    The event will allow seniors 65-years or older to sign-up for the senior freeze and exemptions which aid in reducing the real estate taxes.
    To qualify, seniors must be 65-years-old, own and live in the home and have a total household income of $55,000 or less. Participants must bring their drivers license, income for 2016 (1099) and the latest tax bill.
