School closure extended until at least April 7

    School District 209-U superintendent Dr. Matt Swick issued a notice that as a result of Governor JB Pritzker's order that residents shelter in place through April 7 to slow the spread of COVID-19 that the school closure is extended until at least April 8. 

     Dr. Swick said that district officials anticipate additional guidance and recommendations from the Illinois State Board of Education over the next several days and plans to communicate with staff and parents as soon as possible regarding any adjustments or changes as a result of this most recent announcement from the governor. All school buildings and offices will be closed throughout next week. Administrators will be returning voicemails and email messages as soon as possible. 

     Throughout next week and the entirety of the Governor’s stay at home order, the district strongly recommend that all students, parents and staff members respect and follow the recommendations of health and government officials.

"It is time for all of us to do our part in helping to slow down the spread of this virus," Swick stated.
