Santa is coming to Coal City

Santa Claus and his elves at the North Pole are busy preparing for Christmas, but the jolly old elf himself has announced a pre-Christmas visit to the village of Coal City this weekend to flip the switch to turn on the village's holiday tree and decorations.
Santa is scheduled to arrive in the village Sunday, Nov. 25 and make his way to Campbell Memorial Park around 4 p.m. with assistance from his friends at the Coal City Fire Protection District.
Once he arrives at the park, Santa will visit with children and those who attend will have an opportunity to help Santa turn on the holiday lights. Santa will be in the park until 5 p.m.
The GFWC-IL Coal City Junior Woman's Club and the newly established Juniorettes are teaming up with the village of Coal City to host Santa's visit.
As in the past, the club will provide hot chocolate and cookies. Parents are reminded to bring their cameras and children should bring their letters to Santa that can be placed in the special mailbox posted outside the park entrance.
