Robert Craterfield

CARBON HILL—Robert  Joseph “Bob” Craterfield, 61, of Carbon Hill, IL, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, at home after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 14, 1956 in Joliet, IL to James E. and Anne L. (Buberle) Craterfield. Bob worked for many years as a laborer. He married Kim Carpenter on June 8, 1974, at the New Hope Presbyterian Church in Coal City. Together they raised four daughters. Bob’s joys in life were spent in the outdoors fishing, camping, hunting and gardening. He also loved being with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kim; his daughters: Michelle (Robert) Ray of Joliet, IL; Amanda (Craig) Frost of Coal City, IL; Jennifer (Jayson) Brandon of South Wilmington, IL and Nicole (Eric Anderson) Craterfield of Coal City, IL; nine grandchildren: Nicholas Craterfield, Joshua Craterfield, Jake Frost, Kailey Fry, Kimberly Fry, Bobby Milne, Brooklyn Milne, James Anderson and Aubrey Anderson; his sister, Hope Allen of Elmhurst, IL; his brothers, James (Sharon) Craterfield of Coal City and Thomas Craterfield of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Blanch Carpenter and his brothers-in-law, Danny (Joanie) Carpenter, Tommy Carpenter and Paul Carpenter and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anne Craterfield and his sister in infancy, Mary Craterfield.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial celebration of Bob’s life will be held Sept. 30, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Coal City Area Club. All family and friends are invited to attend.
