Renelle R. Varland

BRAIDWOOD— Age 70, of Braidwood, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her home.  Born December 8, 1946 in Joliet, IL to the late Robert E. and Rita Mary (nee Danzero) Morin.  Renelle attended Reed Custer High School in Braidwood and graduated in 1964.  She was elected the 1965 Centennial Homecoming Queen.  Member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood.  She was previously employed at Alumax, in the Engineering Department for 17 years and also worked in the banking industry for over 20 years.  Renelle's greatest love in life were her grandkids.  She was known by them as Nanny and was sure to never miss a sporting event.  Surviving are her devoted husband, John Varland, whom she married March 9, 1985 in Braidwood; daughter, Renee (Mike) Thompson of Minooka, IL; two grandchildren, Bailey Maxard and Dylan Maxard; three step grandchildren, Brandon Thompson, Lucas Thompson, and Emma Thompson; sister, Catherine Weltsch of Crest Hill, IL; aunt, Mary Grygiel; special family friends, Kathy Field and Marilyn Matlock; and several other cousins and nieces and nephews.  Preceding her in death were her son, Donald Edward Campbell II.  Visitation will be at the R.W.
