Phyllis Fioritto

COAL CITY—Phyllis P. Fioritto, 95, of Coal City  passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 at Presence Villa Franciscan Care Center in Joliet, IL.
Phyllis was born August 26, 1922 in Mazon, IL. to Arthur and Mary (Uher) Kodat . She married Leonard R. Fioritto on Jan. 11, 1942. Together they owned and operated the Coal City Dry Cleaners for 50 years.
She and Leonard were the original dispatchers for Coal City's 911 Emergency Service for the fire and emergency squads. Phyllis was also a home healthcare provider for 12 years. She belonged to many clubs over time including the Junior League, The Martha's, Coal City Women's Club, Caring Friends and the Auxiliary Legion and the Perennial Club.  She was also coordinator for Coaler Travelers.
She was known for wearing her cute hats and riding her three wheel bike around town.
She is survived by her four children: Leonard (Maureen) Fioritto and Catherine (Robert) Ferrari both of Coal City, Mary (Jerry Meece) Trevino of Morris, IL., and Theresa (Richard) Willis of Braidwood; her six grandchildren: Leo and LeAnne Trevino, Greg (Kim) and Glenn (Becki) Ferrari, Troy Fiorito and Stephanie (Gary) Zidek, and her five great grandchildren:  Leanzo, Liam, Lauren, Ethan and Olivia and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard R. Fioritto in 1996; her brothers: Leonard Kodat and Arthur Kodat; her sisters Joy Gumbs, Genevieve Kodat and Catherine Kodat and two grandchildren Jason Trevino and Lori Trevino.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Phyllis's name may be made to the Grundy County Humane Society, 120 4th Street, Coal City
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017                                        at Ferrari Funeral Chapel (corner of Spring Road and Ferrari Drive) with Rev. Ed Howe officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington, IL. Visitation will also be at Ferrari Funeral Services from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
Pall bearers will be her grandchildren: Leo Trevino, LeAnne Trevino, Greg Ferrari, Glenn Ferrari, Troy Fioritto, Stephanie Zidek and Chad Braint.
