Coal City Theatre Department to present Broadway Revue

COAL CITY THEATRE Department students are rehearsing for this year’s Broadway Revue, a fundraiser to support the theatre program. The show, the final production of the school year, is set for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29 at 2 p.m. Over 60 students will take the stage including [from left]: Chessa Kuhel, Courtney Meyer, Sophia Johnson, Elsa Bunton and Shaela O’Keefe.

The Coal City Theatre Department will take the stage for one final performance before the school year ends.

Welcome to Broadway Revue, will be presented Saturday, May 28 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 29 at 2 p.m. in the Coal City Performing Arts Center. The show will feature middle school and high school students performing musical selections from about a dozen of their favorite stage shows.

Featured musicals include “Moulin Rouge!,” “Hadestown,” “Frozen,” and “Wicked,” to name a few.

Individual and group performances will highlight the event which is a fundraiser for the school’s theatre department.

Over 60 students will take the stage this weekend. Starring performances by high school students will include: McKenna Patten, Alli Hausman, Eli Fritz, Chloe Peacock, Mason Natyshok, Izzy Kostbade, Landen Selio, Derek Carlson, Brecken Johnson, Emma Kenney, Sophia Johnson, Aidan Kostbade, Shana Kelly, Courtney Meyer, Shaela O’Keefe, Melody Kinder and Jared Counterman.

Middle school performers will include Kyah Hawkins, Evelyn Wills, Bella Byers, Olivia Sage and Nettie Connor.

Reserved seat tickets, a $10 donation, are available on-line at bit.ly/CCTDTickets or at the door beginning 30 minutes prior to each performance.

All donations will go to support educational opportunities for members of the theatre department, as well as scholarships, master classes and the 2024 New York City trip.
