Nancy Friedle

MESA, AZ—Nancy (Jisa) Friedle, 79, of Mesa, AZ and a native of Coal City, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 at home in Mesa, AZ, surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 7, 1938, and spent much of her life in Coal City. Nancy married John Friedle on Sept. 19, 1959. They moved to Mesa in 2006, but made frequent visits to Coal City. Nancy was an avid reader of mysteries and enjoyed creating beautiful greeting cards for friends and family. In recent years, Nancy was very close to her great-granddaughter and especially enjoyed watching her karate classes.
Nancy is survived by a brother, Frank  Jisa, of Richland, WA; her two daughters, Mary Friedle and Marsha Johnsen, of Mesa, AZ; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husband, John Friedle; her parents, Frank “Speedy” and Ella Jisa, formerly of Coal City and by her son, Sgt. Michael John Friedle, USMC.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Assumption Catholic Church, 245 S. Kankakee St. in Coal City on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. A memorial luncheon will immediately follow mass in the Berst Center.
Inurnment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 2:30 p.m., where Nancy will be laid to rest with her late husband.
Family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made as gifts in Nancy’s memory to East Mesa Karate Student Scholarship Fund, 9303 E. Baseline Rd., #104, Mesa, AZ 85209.
Memorial services and arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Reeves Funeral Homes, Ltd., 75 N. Broadway in Coal City.
