Michael D. DeBoard

BRAIDWOOD—Michael D. DeBoard, 60, of Braidwood, formerly Wilmington, passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2017 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born March 21, 1957 in Joliet, Michael David was a son of Andrew and Adele (nee Cattlett) DeBoard. He was raised and educated in Wilmington, and graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1975. On Feb. 22, 1985, Michael married Sandra Kay Nowman in Joliet. He was employed by Johnson & Johnson Personal Products in Wilmington for 15 years, and most recently with Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. Michael was a member of the Braidwood Recreation Club, which he aspired to take the opportunity to partake in one of his favorite past times, fishing. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Bears, and was a member of the Wilmington High School CatBackers supporting his beloved Wilmington Wildcats. Michael enjoyed listening to classic rock and Christian music, in addition to watching documentaries. He was a true family man who cherished spending time with his kids and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra DeBoard of Braidwood; four children: Caryn (Robert) Robilotta, of Braidwood; Kori (Mike) Hansen, of Wilmington; Ryan (Alicia) DeBoard, of Braidwood and David (Missy) DeBoard of Diamond; six grandchildren: Mackenzie Hubbard, Jayden DeBoard, Hope Stuart, Aubrie DeBoard, Gracie Stuart and Thomas Robilotta; two brothers and two sisters: Alice Futch, of Arkansas; Wayne (Cindy) DeBoard, of Mount Olive, IL; Virginia (George) Powers, of Braidwood and Jeff (Kathy) DeBoard, of Wilmington; one sister-in-law, Charlene DeBoard of Cabury and numerous nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded by his parents, one daughter, Carla DeBoard in 1998; one grandson, Elijah Hansen in 2015;and brothers and sisters: Naydene Collins, Etta Jowers, Billy DeBoard, Jim DeBoard, Joe DeBoard, Charles DeBoard, and Ronnie as well as Margaret DeBoard in infancy.
Visitation and video tribute will be Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 between the hours of 2 and 6 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd., in Wilmington. Family and friends attending are encouraged to wear their favorite, Chicago Cubs, Bears or Wilmington Wildcat attire in light of Mike’s love of the sports.
Funeral services will follow in the funeral home Monday, Aug. 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Ron Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
Pallbearers will be: Ryan DeBoard, Rob Robilotta, Ty Bauer, Dave Sarrazin, Jed DeBoard and Mark Fielder. Jeff DeBoard will be an honorary pallbearer.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Michael’s memory to his family for their distribution.
