Mary Lissy

DIAMOND—Mary (nee Lawhorn) Lissy, 68, of Diamond, one of the most wonderful, caring persons known to everyone that she met, has left this earth to join her loving husband, Jim, on June 18, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Mary was born Aug. 14, 1948 in Joliet, IL to Arthur Edward and Ellamae (nee Frost) Lawhorn and was educated in Wilmington schools. She married Jim Lissy and with him was owner of Lissy's Polaris in Wilmington. After 30 years they retired in 2002 to enjoy their golden years together.
Mary loved music, flowers, old movies and comedies and traveling with her family. She loved her family greatly and enjoyed spending time with any and all of them.
She is survived by her children: Kristina (Kevin) Simpson of Coal City, IL; Don (Ellen) Lissy of Morris, IL; Jeanette (Joe) Puckett of Charmichael, CA and Robert Lissy of Janesville, WI; her grandchildren: David (Katrina) Boero, Justin and Joseph Puckett and Sara and Emily Lissy; her sisters and brothers: Faye Chandonia of Coal City, IL; Nora (Jeff) Allen of Shorewood, IL; George (Kay) Lawhorn of Romeoville, IL and Lawrence “Bud” Lawhorn of Lockport, IL;  her nephews and nieces: John Trachok, Justin and Lucas Allen, Casey (Jen) Lawhorn and Jamie, Tonya and James Lawhorn; her in-laws, Leroy (Kathy) Lissy and Carol (Bill) Pohl and their families and many other family members.
Preceding her in death was her husband, James Lissy; her parents, Arthur Edward and Ellamae Lawhorn; her parents-in-law, Marjorie and Anton Lissy and two brothers, Lonnie Lawhorn and Ralph Lawhorn.
She will be greatly missed by everyone she came in contact with as she was a very friendly and outgoing woman. She has left a vast void in her entire family's lives and they will miss her dearly.
As were Mary's wishes, cremation rites were accorded and private services were held.
